Mondkind is German for Moon Child. My sun sign is Cancer (Ruler is the Moon) and I've always had a fascination for astrology, astronomy and how we get affected by the two. I was born and raised in Germany but have been living in the US for over 10 years. Long enough to call it my home. And how couldn't I? It's so beautiful here in California. I made amazing friends, learned so much about life and myself, and when I'm not creating some new bags, write music or stories, chances are you will find me running by the ocean or in the mountains, most of the time accompanied by my rat terrier-chihuahua Chocho, occasionally by my beloved son and my better half. 

Every bag is 100% handmade by me here at my studio in Santa Monica. I take my time for every single one to make sure I'm happy with the result - and you will be, too.  From picking out high quality fabrics to the final result, a lot of thought, work and love goes into each bag. Besides 100% cotton fabrics & flannel I use vegan leather or occasionally vinyl. The delicate logo is embroidered in matching colors. Every bag has cotton lining and unbleached pure cotton rope, which can be adjusted if needed. You can wash the bag low/cold temperature and let it air dry. I'm sure you will enjoy your Mondkind bag for quite some time, they are very versatile and special.

My inspiration was to create high quality drawstring bags with pure cotton materials, cute unique designs that can be used for many different occasions.  I make sure every single item keeps its personal touch by always creating one design at a time, you will never find two of the same kind at once. I buy all my materials locally here in Los Angeles and try to support neighborhood shop owners by doing so.
